John Derbin established his practice to provide honest and unbiased financial advice and education through a highly personal, concierge-style firm. In an industry that has become highly commoditized and impersonal, John believes that "Integrity, trust and personal relationships are still the most important part of this business."
A native of Metro-Detroit, John is a Certified Financial Planner, holds a BBA finance from Grand Valley State University and has over 20 years of experience working in the financial services field. Prior to starting his practice, John worked as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley, Chase, and as a strategic consultant serving the non-profit sector as well as an adjunct finance instructor at Baker College in West-Michigan.
John, his wife Elizabeth and two sons currently live in Grand Rapids. They are active volunteers in their church, local philanthropy and community service organizations. John is an Eagle Scout, and is still an active leader in his Son's Scout troop in Grand Rapids.
